How to make Revoir look and read the way you need it to.

Themes: Dusk and Linen

Revoir has two themes, and they are designed rather than inverted.

  • Dusk is the dark theme. Deep and warm rather than black and clinical, built for opening the app at night, which is when most reflection actually happens
  • Linen is the light theme. Warm paper rather than white, so the app reads like a journal in daylight

To change your theme, open Settings and choose your theme. By default Revoir follows your iPhone's system appearance setting, so it switches with the rest of your phone.

Both themes are complete. Every screen, card, chart, and badge uses the same set of colours, so nothing looks like it belongs to a different app depending on which theme you are in.

Note

Dusk and Linen arrived in version 1.3.0. If your app still looks like the older palette, update from the App Store.

Larger text

Revoir supports Dynamic Type across the whole app.

Set your preferred text size in iOS Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size, or in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text if you want the larger accessibility sizes.

Revoir responds to whatever you choose. Text scales, layouts reflow rather than clipping, and cards grow to fit their contents instead of cutting them off.

The one exception is exported cards. Those render to fixed-size images so they come out the same dimensions every time, whatever your device text size is set to.

VoiceOver

Revoir is built to work with VoiceOver.

Labels and hints are set throughout, controls are grouped so swiping moves through the screen in a sensible order, and destructive actions announce their result. If you delete or archive a person, VoiceOver tells you it happened rather than leaving you to infer it from silence.

Reduce Motion

If Reduce Motion is on in iOS Settings, Revoir honours it.

The app's looping and breathing animations stop. Everything stays fully usable, and nothing is hidden as a result. You get the same app without the movement.

iPad

Revoir adapts to iPad rather than stretching an iPhone layout across a much larger screen.

Layouts respond to the width available, so content sits at a comfortable measure instead of running edge to edge. This arrived in version 1.4.0. Earlier versions ran on iPad but stretched.
