Privacy & Data
- Where is my data stored?
- All your data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud or our servers.
- Can you see my data?
- No. We have no way to access your data. It never leaves your device.
- What happens if I delete the app?
- All your data is deleted. There is no cloud backup to restore from. Export your data first if you want to keep it.
- How do I back up my data?
- Revoir automatically backs up your data on-device. You can also manually export your data by going to Settings > Data Management > Export All Data and saving the file to iCloud Drive, Files, or sharing via AirDrop.
- Can I sync between devices?
- Not currently. Revoir is designed as a single-device, privacy-first app. Multi-device sync may be considered in the future.
Features
- What is the difference between tags on people vs. dates?
- Tags on a person appear on all their dates (inherited). Tags on a date only appear on that specific date.
- How does mood tracking work?
- After each date, you log how you felt before, during, and after. This helps identify patterns in how different situations affect you.
- When do insights appear?
- There are two kinds of insights, each with its own threshold. Per-Person Insights appear on a person's profile after you log 3 dates with that person. The Analytics Dashboard appears in the Insights tab after you log 5 or more dates in total across all people. The more data you add, the richer your insights become.
- How accurate is the astrology compatibility?
- Astrology compatibility is for entertainment and reflection. It is based on traditional zodiac pairings but is not scientifically validated.
- What is Dating Style based on?
- Dating Style is based on attachment theory, a psychological framework for understanding relationship patterns.
- How do I see compatibility with someone?
- Both you and the other person need data set for the same system. Set your type via Settings > Astrology & Culture (or take a quiz), then set their type by editing their profile. Compatibility cards will appear on their profile automatically.
- What are Connection Styles?
- Connection Styles are based on love languages — how you prefer to give and receive affection. The five styles are Verbal Appreciation, Thoughtful Actions, Meaningful Gifts, Undivided Attention, and Physical Closeness. Take the 10-question quiz in Settings to discover yours.
- What is Revoir Personality Type?
- Revoir Personality Type is our original dating personality system with 16 types, each named for their dating style (The Romantic, The Spark, The Devoted, etc.). Take the 12-question quiz in Settings to find your type.
- How do I take the compatibility quizzes?
- Go to Settings > Astrology & Culture, enable the system you want, then tap Take the Quiz. The quiz takes 2-3 minutes.
- Can I change my compatibility type after taking a quiz?
- Yes. You can retake the quiz or manually select a different type from the picker at any time.
- How do I submit feedback or vote on features?
- Go to Settings and scroll to the Feedback section. You will find two buttons: Submit an Idea (opens the Revoir feedback board where you can suggest new features) and Roadmap & Vote (see what is planned and vote on features you want most).
- Can I change the app icon?
- Yes. Go to Settings > Appearance and choose from three icon options: Default (the standard Revoir icon), Midnight (a dark variant), or Blush (a soft pink variant).
- Does Revoir support deep links?
- Yes. Revoir supports the revoir:// URL scheme for navigating directly to screens within the app. This is used by widgets, notifications, and the Share Extension.
- What is the Dating Dictionary?
- Long-press any emoji tag in the tag picker, on a person card, or on a date card to open its Dating Dictionary entry — a short explanation of what the tag means and when to use it.
- Does Mira remember things between conversations?
- Yes, with Mira Long-Term Memory, a Premium feature. Mira remembers key details across conversations, scoped per person. Access memories via the memories button in any Mira chat. You can view and delete individual memories at any time.
- Can I add a person from a dating app screenshot?
- Yes. Screenshot a profile in Hinge, Bumble, or any other dating app, then tap Share and choose Revoir. Revoir scans the screenshot and extracts the name and platform automatically. The full profile text is stored on-device and used by Mira when you ask about that person.
- Can I chat with Mira right after a date?
- Yes. After logging a date, a Talk to Mira shortcut appears on the confirmation screen. Tap it to open a Mira chat scoped to that date.
Account & Subscription
- Is Revoir free?
- Yes. Core features are free with no time limit. A Premium subscription unlocks Mira (on-device AI chat with long-term memory), custom tags, all 15 card types, PDF export, and breathing exercises.
- What does Premium include?
- Premium includes Mira (on-device AI to ask about any entry, pattern, or period, with long-term memory stored per person), custom tags (user-defined tags beyond the built-in emoji set), all 15 card types (including the full Year-in-Review deck and both event cards), PDF export, and breathing exercises (guided breathing sessions).
- How do I restore my purchase?
- Go to Settings > Subscription > Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID.
- Do you offer refunds?
- Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.
Troubleshooting
- The app will not open or keeps crashing
- Try force-quitting and reopening. If that does not work, restart your device. As a last resort, reinstall the app (note: this deletes your data).
- My data is not syncing
- Revoir does not sync — all data is local to your device. This is intentional for privacy.
- The Share Extension is not working
- Make sure Revoir appears in your share sheet. If not, scroll right and tap More to enable it.
- I cannot find my exported PDF
- Check the Files app or wherever you saved it. PDFs are saved to the location you choose in the share sheet.
